Our profile

At the Chair for Numerical Mathematics of the RWTH Aachen University we offer a full postdoc position in the field of Numerical mathematics. In our group we work on the analysis, implementation and application of numerical simulation methods for partial differential equations.
Main research topics are on numerical methods for two-phase incompressible flow problems and for partial differential equations on surfaces. More information on these topics can be found on and

They should have a master degree in mathematics, computational engineering or a related field and have a solid background in numerical methods for PDEs.

Your responsibilities

Research will be on a topic in the field of numerical methods for partial differential equations, e.g. discretization methods for two-phase incompressible flow problems or for PDEs on evolving surfaces.
The candidate has to participate in covering the teaching obligations at the Chair for Numerical Mathematics.

What we offer

The successful candidate will be employed as a regular employee.
The position is to be filled 01.04.2020 until limited to 2 years. An extension by two more years is possible.
The standard weekly hours will be 39,83.
Applicants must have a doctorate/Ph.D. or equivalent.
The salary corresponds to level EG 13 TV-L.
